Updated Accounts & Subscriptions
Deleting a channel vs. deleting your account. These are different things:
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Delete a channel on a personal Google Account | The channel is removed, but your Google Account (Gmail, Drive, etc.) stays active |
| Delete a Brand Account channel | Removes that channel only; other channels or accounts are unaffected |
| Delete your whole Google Account | Removes YouTube along with Gmail, Drive, and everything else — a much bigger step |
Most people only want the first or second option, not a full Google Account deletion.
Is it reversible? For a limited grace period after choosing "permanently delete," YouTube may still allow recovery, but once that window passes, videos, comments, playlists, and subscriber counts are gone for good. If there's any chance you'll want the channel back, choose the hide option first rather than deleting outright.
