How to Know if Someone Blocked Your Number?

There's no 100% reliable notification that you've been blocked — phones intentionally keep it ambiguous. But several signs together strongly suggest it.

Signs of a blocked phone number:

1. Calls go straight to voicemail. If your calls consistently ring once (or not at all) and then go directly to voicemail every time, that's a common sign. (A phone that's simply off usually does this too.)
2. No ringing. Blocked calls often don't ring on your end, or ring only a partial time before voicemail.
3. Texts don't deliver. On iPhone, a green/blue bubble that never shows "Delivered" can indicate a block. On Android/SMS, you simply won't get a failure notice — texts just seem to vanish.
4. iMessage turns from blue to green. If messages to an iPhone contact suddenly send as green SMS instead of blue iMessage (and stay undelivered), it may point to a block.

A good test: Call from a different phone number. If it rings normally from another number but always goes to voicemail from yours, you're likely blocked.

On messaging apps (WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.): clues include a profile picture disappearing, messages showing only one checkmark (never delivered), or no longer seeing "last seen"/online status.

Important caveat: Each sign has innocent explanations — the person's phone could be off, out of service, in Do Not Disturb, or having carrier issues. Only a combination of these signs over time is a strong hint.
