How to Unblock a Number?

Unblocking a number takes just a few taps. The steps differ slightly between iPhone and Android, and messaging apps have their own separate block lists.

On iPhone:

1. Open Settings.
2. Tap Phone (for calls) — or Messages for texts, or FaceTime for FaceTime.
3. Tap Blocked Contacts.
4. Find the number, swipe left on it, and tap Unblock (or tap Edit → the red minus → Unblock).

The block lists are shared, so unblocking in one usually removes the block for calls and texts.

On Android (Google Phone app — varies slightly by phone):

1. Open the Phone app.
2. Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top corner.
3. Go to Settings → Blocked numbers.
4. Tap the X next to the number you want to unblock, and confirm.

(On Samsung phones: Phone app → three dots → Settings → Block numbers → remove the number.)

On messaging apps: Each app has its own block list. For example:

• WhatsApp: Settings → Privacy → Blocked contacts → tap the contact → Unblock.
• Instagram/Facebook: in Settings → Privacy → Blocked accounts.

Tip: After unblocking, you'll start receiving their calls and messages again, but you won't get any calls or texts they sent while they were blocked — those are gone.
