How to Enable 2FA on Fortnite?

Why this comes up so often: Epic requires 2FA to be enabled for certain things:

• Receiving some free Locker rewards given out as promotions (historically including items like the Boogie Down emote)
• Purchasing or gifting through Fortnite Crew, the monthly subscription
• Some gifting features between friends

So the search usually isn't idle curiosity — it's someone blocked from claiming a reward or completing a purchase until 2FA is on.

Step by step

1. Go to epicgames.com and sign in.
2. Click your account name, then Account.
3. Go to Password & Security.
4. Find Two-Factor Authentication and choose a method:
   • Authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.) — most secure
   • Email — a code sent to your registered email each time
   • SMS — a code by text (availability varies by region)
5. Follow the prompts to confirm the method (scan a QR code for an app, or verify a code sent to email/phone).
6. Once confirmed, 2FA is active across all Epic Games titles, including Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys.

On console or mobile: the Epic Games account settings are the same regardless of platform — open a browser (even on a phone) to epicgames.com to make the change, since it isn't done from inside the Fortnite app itself.

If a reward still isn't showing after enabling 2FA: log out and back into Fortnite completely, since some rewards are only checked and granted on the next login after 2FA is confirmed active.
